Besides her main activity as a performing cellist, Karlien Bartels has been teaching over many years, which she does with great passion, involvement and individual approach to every student. She is teaching at the ArtEZ University of the Arts (for the cities Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle) where she took over the cello class of Jeroen Reuling. Her students come from many different countries such as Holland, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Greece and China. Besides teaching at ArtEZ University of the Arts she is teaching private classes as well to young professional cellists (who wish to prepare for Conservatoire entrances, orchestra auditions or competitions). These lessons take place in Groningen. March 11th 2023: 16-years old Zoey Dor from the Young Talentclass at ArtEZ in Zwolle was awarded with 1st prize at the national Britten Cello Competition (age cat. 16-18)

December 19th 2022: Ragazzi aka 'Woodcraft' wins 1st prize at the 'Dutch Jazz & Crossover Competition' in Amsterdam

February 1st 2022: String quintet 'Ragazzi' (with (ex) students Reinout de Vey Mestdagh, Ischa Kooistra and Joshua Herwig, wins 2nd prize at the Dutch Oskar Back 'Jonge Makers' Competition

January 13th 2019: at the Christina Competition (Oost) Job Huiskamp (18 years old) wins 2nd prize

March 12th 2017: 16 years old Job Huiskamp, student at the Young Talentclass at ArtEZ wins 3rd prize and Audience Award at the Princess Christina Competition (Oost)

March 2015: 14-years-old Job Huiskamp wins 1st prize at the Britten Cello Competition (age cat. 13-15)
